I’m not sure I agree with all of this person’s interpretations … ? I think you can argue that Gatsby is as good as a main character, depending on how you define the term. The entire action of the book revolves around him. Otherwise it would just be a bunch of rich white people lounging on couches and complaining.

Nick is undoubtedly the narrator and audience surrogate, but I’m not sure he really … does enough positive action in the book to fully deserve the title of “protagonist” (again, the criteria for the term really depends on what story structure you’re adhering to). And both characters have arcs so IDK. 

I rather hope none of my followers need to be told that this isn’t a romantic movie. 8D; It isn’t, of course, though I think it has some rather sad romantic tragedy in it! I’m a teensy bit worried about Baz Lurhman directing but I’m excited to see it nonetheless.
